A power control unit/ power train control unit (PCU) is also known as power control module (PCM). Another term it is sometimes referred to is the engine control unit (ECU). The power control until regulates the correct amount of fuel, the timing of the ignition and idle speed of the engine. The PCU also controls the radiator cooling fan, fuel pump and air pump controls as well as other car parts. Before the invention of the ECU, this was controlled by an actuator.
